This week working on still lives and thinking about color theory. After many years of painting I feel I have just scratched the surface of what I need to know. This week I joined the Pastel Society of South Carolina. I think working in pastel is a good way to expand color possibilities and is another plein air option that is becoming popular. Reading a great book, "In Monmartre, Picasso, Matisse, and the Birth of Modernist Art" by Sue Roe. It is completely fascinating, even though I've never been a big fan of Picasso, this book brings to life the era from which Modern Art evolved.
