I have painted and studied art most of my life. Charleston architecture is one of my favorite subjects. I paint from observation and photographic reference. My collages are an homage to art history and the early influence of sewing, quilt patterns, fabrics, and fashion. My later influences have been books, children's art, Impressionism, Cubism, contemporary West Coast Painters, Perceptual Painters, and collage master Romare Bearden. I studied with abstract painters Ken Kewley, Catherine Kehoe, and others at Cullowhee Arts in WNC. At present I continue to move away from traditional painting and in the direction of abstraction. Thanks for looking at my work.
